Horse Training Track

This ½ mile horse training track was constructed in Erin, Ontario in 2009. The owners requested a quote to reconstruct an existing track that was just short of ½ mile and was in need of some repair.

Nellis Construction surveyed the land and worked on a design that would meet the needs of the training facility and yet stay within the owner’s budget. After submitting a couple of design proposals, the owners chose the design that best suited their needs.

In the end the track was relocated and completely reconstructed to provide a full half mile. The turns were banked to reduce stress on the horse’s legs. The track surface was coated with a layer of limestone screenings. Topsoil was placed back onto all disturbed areas in preparation of a future paddock.
